Annually on the first Saturday of May, thousands celebrate National Scrapbook Day (NSD)! Research shows this holiday was first recognized in 1994 – 23 years ago! While it is called “National” Scrapbook Day, the holiday is recognized around the world.
Why should NSD be celebrated? We think all cool things should be celebrated and that includes scrapbooking. Scrapbooking dates back to the 15th century. It is a method that preserves family history, personal mementos, photographs, newspaper clippings, artwork and other memorabilia. Scrapbooking can take many, many, MANY different forms - - it isn’t just about 12” x 12” layouts.
This year, we are celebrating NSD with Annette Green, Special Projects Designer with Graphic 45. Annette is hugely talented (just take a look at her blog filled all sorts of crafty goodness). Annette will be teaching three classes over NSD weekend. All three classes focus on creating stunning paper craft creations with Graphic 45 papers that can be used for scrapbooking and keeping mementos and journaling.
Click here to see images of all three of the projects and for class/registration details. The Saturday class includes lunch and a chance to win an amazing Graphic 45 prize package valued at $100!
Visit our Facebook page for a video that shows (posted on 4/22/17) how gorgeous and intricate the Portrait of a Lady Interactive Album is. All the projects are stunning, and you truly need to see them in person to appreciate them (so stop by P&P and check them out)!
Lastly, we wanted to provide some inspiration on the various ways you can “scrapbook” – again it isn’t just about the 12” x 12” layouts (although, those are really cool too!).

And on that note, we leave you with a Bob Dylan quote. Have a great day and enjoy living (and keeping) your memories!
