If you follow Palette & Paper on Instagram and/or Facebook you saw that the new Tim Holtz’s Distress Oxide Ink Pads are in stock!
So, what is a Distress Oxide? How does it differ from Tim’s other distress products?
Distress Oxide Ink Pads are a water-reactive dye and pigment fusion. They create an oxidized effect when sprayed with water. They come in 12 colors including Tim’s gorgeous colors of “Worn Lipstick”, “Cracked Pistachio”, “Vintage Photo” and more.
Since they have pigment in them they work well on darker paper also. Check out the various colors on white, kraft and black paper.
When it comes to stamping, Distress Oxides work better for stamping giving an opaquer look vs. Distress Inks that tend to be “blotchy” when stamping.
You can check out Tim demoing the Distress Oxide Ink Pads while at Creativation here:

If you follow Palette & Paper on Instagram and/or Facebook, you may have seen yesterday that Mare is in Phoenix, AZ. Mare headed to Phoenix for Creativation (formerly known as Craft & Hobby Association or CHA).
Creativation is an annual trade show hosted by the Craft & Hobby Association that brings buyers, suppliers, designers and more together for events and a trade show celebrating a variety of "crafts" and "hobbies". The event is a great way to discover new products, inspiration, ideas and innovations.
Exciting manufacturers including My Mind's Eye, Kaisercraft, Faber-Castell, American Crafts, Heidi Swapp, Ken Oliver, Pebbles, Ranger Industries, Jillibean Soup and SO MANY MORE will be there demonstrating and exhibiting their new products and lines at the trade show portion of Creativation that kicks off on Saturday.
Prior to that there are many classes and workshops being hosted by manufacturers. Mare is out there getting her craft on and checking out all of the upcoming products to "shop" for the Shoppe.
Be sure to follow Palette & Paper on social media for the insider scoop of what Mare is up to and the #creativation and #creativation2017 hashtags to see all sorts of fun pictures from the five day event. Oh and even though Mare is in Phoenix, the Shoppe is still open 11 am - 5 pm Thursday - Saturday. Stop in and say hi to Charlie who is running things back here in Indy!
A couple of the sights from Creativation so far!
Ranger is hauling in products and their booth display by the crates. Can't wait to see what they have up their sleeve, including the new Distress Oxide products and Scribble Sticks.
Eileen Hull has taken her Paper Trail right to the trade show floor and parked Scotty (her vintage trailer) there for the week. We have been fortunate to have Eileen teach at Palette & Paper a couple of times this past year. Eileen, a designer for Sizzix and Clearsnap, shares great live videos on her Facebook and fun snaps on her Instagram. Be sure to follow along.
