Who remembers the excitement of going to the store with your mom to select the perfect box of Valentine’s? If you were like me, this meant a quick trip to the corner drug store to select a cellophane wrapped box of pop culture’s top characters. All of the boxes included one for the teacher as well one for “that special someone”. Armed with my classmate list provided by my teacher, I would dutifully fill out one for each person. I worked on using my very best handwriting, bonus points if my mom could find a red pen, and included a scratch and sniff sticker for my best friend. All of this was done with little fanfare just a few days before Valentine’s Day.
Just because your school days are over, doesn’t mean that your Valentine Days are over! There is always a special person to craft for, be it your sweetheart, your grandchildren, or your crafting best friend. This year I decided to take a non traditional approach and used no red or pink! A quick search on Pinterest yielded some beautiful examples of non-traditional valentine cards...for kids and grown ups alike!
